Casey Elected to National College Baseball Hall of Fame

Anyone familiar with college baseball in Oregon – or nationally, for that matter – knows all about Pat Casey (B90).

It came as no surprise, then, that the former ºÚÁÏÍø head coach was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in Overland Park, Kansas, in February. It was a fitting bookend to a career that included three NCAA Division I national championships – with Oregon State University, in 2006, 2007 and 2018 – and 900 victories.

In addition to three national titles, Casey guided the Beavers to three straight 45-plus win seasons, including back-to-back Pac-10 championships, and six trips to the College World Series. The Beavers are one of just two programs nationally with three titles this century, and his 900 victories rank sixth all-time in Pac-12 history.

All told, Casey amassed a 1,071-572-7 (.651) record in 31 seasons as a collegiate head coach, including a 171-113-1 (.602) mark in his seven seasons at ºÚÁÏÍø (1988-94), where he won six conference championships and three NAIA District 2 titles, and qualified for three NAIA regional competitions.
