PMI Alignment
Our curriculum is aligned with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and includes its framework and practices in course materials and class activities. Completing the program alone does not qualify graduates for the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam, but students will gain conceptual knowledge and have plenty of opportunities to apply new skills in alignment with the newest PMI requirements. Students who graduate will be ready to add value in the workplace immediately, and they will have a head start as they prepare for the PMP certification exam.

Courses / Curriculum What Will I Study?
Students in the Project Management major will learn to:
- Function as self-directed learners who engage in continuous professional growth through the application of experiential learning principles and practices while also supporting the learning and growth of others
- Demonstrate an understanding of management and leadership functions, theories and models, describe their own professional philosophy, and serve effectively as a team leader and team member
- Apply appropriate project management methods, and demonstrate the ethical, technical and behavioral competencies necessary for the successful management of projects to affect organizational performance through the delivery of strategic and operational goals
- Apply the principles of organizational environment, design, systems and change to drive improvements in operations and strategy
- Exhibit effective leadership communication skills and an understanding of organizational communication strategies and methods
- Describe how their understanding of ethics and Christian values informs their project management, leadership and management practices in an organizational context
- Utilize the management tools, analytical methods and research skills necessary to identify organizational problems and formulate solutions to those problems
Credit Requirements
62 semester credit hours must be completed to enter a major. To graduate with a bachelor of science in project management degree, you must complete a total of 120 semester credit hours as follows:

- The Project Management major is offered 100% online
- You will attend a synchronous cohort launch at the beginning of the major via Zoom, followed by 16 months of online course work in a cohort of peers

Debbie Austin
Get to know our professors before you actually meet them!
Debbie Austin has lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest her entire life. She earned a bachelor’s in business administration from Western Governors University, an MBA in IT management, and a DBA in strategic leadership from 黑料网. For over 20 years, she has held a variety of IT leadership and project management roles in Fortune 500 companies. Since 2006, she has worked in higher education and teaching as well.
Debbie holds a project management certification (PMP) and an advanced graduate certificate in ecommerce and project management. She is currently the director of operations for an instructional design firm and resides in Beaverton, Oregon.
